Below is a short history of the 1979 Egg Harbor 48 Sport Fisherman
Built on a stretched version of the flat-bottom hull first used for the Egg Harbor 46 Sedan, the Egg Harbor 48 Sport Fisherman represented the last of the classic old-style Egg Harbor convertible designs. Aimed at the luxury end of the sport fishing market, she was originally offered in either a 2 or 3 stateroom layout with a large stateroom layout portside master stateroom. Notably, the Egg Harbor 48 was one of the first production boats fitted out with the early 550-hp 8V92 diesel resulting in 25-knot cruising.
